Stephen Rothman's primary practice areas are zoning, land use and local government law and land use litigation.
Mr. Rothman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia (A.B., 1985) and his law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law (J.D., 1993), where he served on the Moot Court Board. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Rothman was employed with the City of Atlanta Bureau of Planning and Bureau of Buildings, with responsibilities in zoning administration and enforcement (1985-1989). Mr. Rothman also served on the staff of U.S. Senator Wyche Fowler in his Washington, D.C. office (1991). Prior to joining the firm in 1997, Mr. Rothman practiced law in the Office of the Fulton County, Georgia Attorney (1993-1997), primarily in civil litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, with a concentration in the areas of zoning, development and employment discrimination law. Mr. Rothman frequently lectures at zoning, land use and local government law seminars with the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the National Business Institute and has published several legal articles regarding land use law, land use litigation, subdivision and platting law and the rezoning process.
